Hello Hedgehogs!
As the year comes to a close, it's a great time to reflect on the progress and accomplishments of the past 12 months. Hedgehog Creek has seen some major improvements and a record number of new hedgehogs joining the community. I am excited to see what next year brings!
I wan't to first thank all the supporter hedgehogs. Your support means the world to me and I am grateful for each and every one of you. Thank you for your continued encouragement and for helping me to keep creating and sharing my work with the world.
Let's take a look back at some of the major updates that came in 2022 :-
January 2022: I started off the year with a major rewrite, which included significant updates to the website, new user interfaces and other major changes to the game. This update included a dynamic full-screen experiences across mobile, tablet, and desktop devices. I also started the changelogs with this version of Hedgehog Creek.
April 2022: During Easter, a mini event was held in which 4 eggs were hidden at various locations throughout the world.
September 2022: There have been a number of significant additions in this update. One of the most notable changes is the introduction of a new and improved combat card battle system. This system offers an energy recharge mechanic, new creatures, and the ability to collect cards and build a card deck. In addition to this, a day-night system was implemented, which added a sense of atmosphere to the game world. This system also affects the lighting in the game. The Cave room underwent a significant expansion, offering hedgehogs even more exploration opportunities. The cave is the biggest room to date!
October 2022: Hedgehog Creek was decorated for Halloween and we celebrated for the first time with the illumination effects of the day and night cycle. The pumpkins really did have a scary glow in the dark! During this event the login flow had a remember me button added and new animations were added to some of the UI. The chat bubbles also got a fresh new design!
November 2022: Hedgehog Creek turned 2! The Cafe had a special party to celebrate.
December 2022: The Festive Event came and decorations were put up! A huge new update introduced major changes to the room generation system to make room for editable homes. For the first time in Hedgehog Creek's history, hedgehogs could now have their own place to decorate and call home.
What a year it has been! I hope you all have enjoyed the updates and events!
