Happy 6th Birthday Hedgehog Creek! Party, Fireworks and v10.4
Hedgehog Creek is 6 years old! Join the birthday party in the Cafe today at 4pm UK time, grab the new 6th Anniversary Cape and Balloon and watch the fireworks light up the Village sky.
Hello Hedgehogs! 🥳
Hedgehog Creek is 6 years old! The official birthday was on 3rd November, but like in past years I saved the party for the weekend so more of you can come along. Join me in the Cafe today, Saturday 7th November, at 4pm UK time.
If you are new here, Hedgehog Creek is a free online virtual world that runs in your browser. Dress up your hedgehog, decorate your home, make friends and play minigames. Create a hedgehog or log in and come and say hello.
The birthday party
The Cafe is all dressed up for the night. The lights are on, there is a big birthday cake on the table with its candles lit and the place fills up with hedgehogs in their best capes and balloons. I will be there too, so come and say hello.
There are two new items to collect at the party.
- 6th Anniversary Cape, an orange cape with a birthday cake on the front.
- 6th Anniversary Balloon, a big purple balloon with a 6 on it.
Head to the Village and walk into the Cafe at 4pm. You can also mark yourself as interested in the event on Discord to get a reminder.
Fireworks over the Village
When the sun sets the Village puts on a firework display. Rockets go up behind the Cafe and by the Hedgehog Creek sign, then burst into colourful stars that trail down and light up the ground below. Every hour through the night all the fireworks go off together for a little finale.
Stay in the Village after the party and watch the sky.
Confetti in the Cafe
The fireworks and the confetti both use a brand new particle effect. Party poppers go off across the Cafe and scatter confetti over the room. It falls around hedgehogs and furniture, then settles on the floor before slowly fading away.
What's new in v10.4
Version 10.4 goes live at the same time as the party.
- Fireworks. Night fireworks, as above, with launch and burst sounds.
- Confetti. Party poppers fill the Cafe with confetti, using the same new particle effect as the fireworks.
- A birthday Cafe. The Cafe has a brand new 6th anniversary look, with a lit cake, balloons and a night time glow.
- Free item reminders. Hazel and Mr Prickles now tell you in chat when there is a free item waiting in their shops.
- Hedgehogs Can Fly 1.2.0. Anything knocked loose and falling towards you now shows a warning at the top of the screen. Falling debris drops a little slower. Fuel and helium tanks no longer appear on top of obstacles. Thank you for the suggestion on Discord!
Thank you
Hedgehog Creek is made by one person, and 6 years on it is still going because of everyone who logs in, makes friends and shares it. Thank you for being part of it.
